Another Zoo Trip

I’ve made going to the zoo a regular activity. Through the week, it’s a good distance to walk from my apartment—not too far, not too near. And there are lots of places to rest if I need to.

I finally got a decent shot of the leopard in his outdoor enclosure.

Here is the cool little police car. I want one.

These are evil fish (all fish are evil) in the African area.

And here’s the pygmy hippo with more evil fish. The next shot shows you how evil these fish are.

Look at these things! First they have these big lips – and they all stare at you as you walk by. How creepy is that? It was also kinda weird as to how many fish were in this exhibit – they seemed really crammed together. These things gave me the willies. Blech.

Here’s a little closer shot of the tiger. I’ve named it Waffle. I have no idea what its “real” name is, but to me, he’s Waffle.

A snake. I don’t remember what kind. There was a group of kids on a field trip in the reptile house, so I really didn’t get a chance to read the signs. I just snapped a shot here and there when I found an open spot.

An ostrich. He seemed rather bored. There’s supposed to be a giraffe in with him, but I didn’t see it. I’ll get a shot of it sooner or later.

Meerkats. There was one below that was tunneling and popping in and out. They’re kinda funny animals. Again, too many kids around to spend time taking pics.

With this being the middle of May, I’ve run into a lot of field trip groups on my walk to and through the zoo, so I haven’t taken too many pictures. iPhone is getting restless, but we’ll get out and about and get more shots of cool things. Like garbage cans.
